Additional information
North Carolina APRN Standard Renewal Requirements: North Carolina APRNs must renew their licenses every two years before the last day of their birth month, completing 50 contact hours of Board-approved CE. At least 20 of the required hours must be in the APRN’s specialty or population focus, and APRNs with prescriptive authority must include controlled substance prescribing education. Maintaining national certification may substitute for the CE requirement—see official details on the NC Board of Nursing APRN CE page .
