Maryland Registered Nurse Standard Renewal Requirements: Maryland RNs must renew their license every two years, with the deadline on the 28th day of the birth month. To renew, nurses can choose between completing 30 Board-approved CE contact hours, showing 1,000 hours of nursing practice in the last five years, or recent graduation from a Board-approved nursing program within the past five years. I was hospitalized last year for almost a month and I noticed multiple medical errors (not being hooked up to my IV multiple times, given wrong medication which caused my sodium to be very low, etc.) which lengthened my stay. I can now define those exact errors and better understand what happened to me. I hate that these medical errors are so common and I appreciate how well laid out your breakdown and categorization of them was.
