2 hours in opioid prescribing/abuse (for APRNs with prescriptive authority)
Additional information
Indiana APRN Standard Renewal Requirements: Indiana APRNs with prescriptive authority must complete 30 contact hours of CE every two years, including 8 hours in pharmacology and 2 hours focused on opioid prescribing/abuse . All DEA-registered APRNs must also complete a federal one-time 8-hour opioid/substance use disorder course. Renewal coincides with the RN renewal schedule and is completed through the Indiana Board of Nursing portal. Official instructions and compliance guidance are on the Indiana Board of Nursing site .

I was hospitalized last year for almost a month and I noticed multiple medical errors (not being hooked up to my IV multiple times, given wrong medication which caused my sodium to be very low, etc.) which lengthened my stay. I can now define those exact errors and better understand what happened to me. I hate that these medical errors are so common and I appreciate how well laid out your breakdown and categorization of them was.
