Illinois APRN Standard Renewal Requirements: Illinois APRNs must complete 80 hours of Board-approved continuing education every two years. Up to 30 hours may be earned through presentations, research, publications, projects, or preceptorships; a minimum of 50 hours must be from CE programs in the APRN specialty, including mandatory content in pharmacology, opioid/substance abuse, sexual harassment prevention , implicit bias , and dementia care . Allowable CE formats include standard courses, research, presentations, and preceptorship if Board-approved. Renewal is every two years by May 31, with the full details and updates at the Illinois Nursing Licensure CE center .

I was hospitalized last year for almost a month and I noticed multiple medical errors (not being hooked up to my IV multiple times, given wrong medication which caused my sodium to be very low, etc.) which lengthened my stay. I can now define those exact errors and better understand what happened to me. I hate that these medical errors are so common and I appreciate how well laid out your breakdown and categorization of them was.
