Connecticut Dental Hygienist Standard Renewal Requirements: Connecticut dental hygienists renew their licenses every year in their birth-month, but must attest to 16 hours of qualifying CE every two years. The CE must include one hour of Infection Control and one hour of Cultural Competency training, while the remaining hours may cover any clinical or scientific topics pertinent to dental hygiene and may be taken online through ADA/ADHA-approved providers. Hygienists can substitute up to 5 CE hours per cycle with volunteer service (8 volunteer hours = 1 CE hour), and must keep completion certificates for three years in case of audit. CT.gov
