Alabama LPN Standard Renewal Requirements: Alabama LPNs must renew their licenses every two years, by December 31 of odd years, and complete 24 contact hours of approved continuing education for each renewal cycle. For a first-time renewal, 4 of the required hours must be from a Board-provided mandatory course on state law and regulations; this is a one-time requirement. I was hospitalized last year for almost a month and I noticed multiple medical errors (not being hooked up to my IV multiple times, given wrong medication which caused my sodium to be very low, etc.) which lengthened my stay. I can now define those exact errors and better understand what happened to me. I hate that these medical errors are so common and I appreciate how well laid out your breakdown and categorization of them was.
