  • Texas Acupuncturist Standard Renewal Requirements: Licensed Acupuncturists in Texas must renew their licenses every two years by November 30, with renewal years corresponding to license number parity (even/odd). They must complete 34 hours of approved continuing acupuncture education every biennium, including minimum hours in General Acupuncture, Ethics/Safety, Herbology, and Biomedicine. Additionally, completion of a human trafficking prevention course approved by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission is mandatory. Up to 16 hours of coursework from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) or from courses provided internationally may be accepted. No specific minimum for live hours is designated. Renewals must be completed timely to avoid penalties
