Child Abuse and Reporting
Pennsylvania Dental Assistant Standard Renewal Requirements: Pennsylvania dental assistants who are certified as Expanded Function Dental Assistants (EFDA) must renew their license biennially by completing 10 hours of Board-approved continuing education, including 2 hours specifically on
child abuse recognition and reporting. For initial licensure, 3 hours of child abuse recognition CE is required. Licenses renew every two years, with the upcoming cycle from April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2027. Renewal fees are $37.
