Michigan Master's Social Work Standard Renewal Requirements: Licensed master's social workers in Michigan must renew their licenses every three years by completing 45 continuing education contact hours approved by the board, including mandatory hours in ethics (5 hours), pain and symptom management (2 hours), and human trafficking (2 hours) within each renewal cycle. At least half of these hours must be live or synchronous contact hours. There are no specified elective hour limits or allowances for alternative CE credits noted.
