Florida Certified Optometrist Standard Renewal Requirements: Certified optometrists in Florida must renew their licenses biennially by February 28, completing a total of 30 continuing education hours. Of these, at least 6 hours must be transcript-quality coursework focusing on ocular and systemic pharmacology, and diagnosis, treatment, and management of ocular and systemic disease. All CE credits must be earned through live or classroom instruction, with no allowance for home study or purely asynchronous courses. These requirements are enforced by the Florida Board of Optometry. Renewal
