About this course
While pharmacists dispense medication to patients with substance abuse, they don’t know how treatment is initiated, how long it lasts, and how the dose of medication is titrated.In this CE, substance abuse disorder will be discussed, medication-assisted treatment (MAT) will be explained as well as the medications used in MAT. Included are the research of both empirical and anecdotal medications and alternative medication, such as cannabis and psychedelic drugs added to the MAT regimen. The roles of pharmacy personnel as part of a collaborative team in treatment of substance abuse will also be identified.
