Clinical Implications of Near-Death Experiences
Learn how near-death experiences impact clinical practice, exploring their psychological and physiological dimensions, and understand their implications for patient care and treatment strategies.

About this course
In today's evolving healthcare landscape, understanding near-death experiences (NDEs) and their clinical significance has become increasingly essential. As awareness of NDEs grows across diverse cultural contexts, the demand for clear definitions and evidence-based insights into their underlying mechanisms continues to expand. This training offers a comprehensive exploration of seven contemporary causal theories, highlighting their strengths and limitations. With NDEs profoundly influencing individuals both immediately and over the long term, healthcare professionals will gain critical skills in recognizing and addressing these unique experiences. The course underscores the importance of diagnostic precision, incorporating the nuanced use of DSM-5 Z-Code 65.8 (formerly DSM-IV V-Code 62.89) and introducing updated assessment tools for differential diagnosis. By the end of this training, participants will master therapeutic strategies specifically designed for the NDE population, fostering a holistic, empathetic, and evidence- informed approach to care.
