Avian Influenza is a viral infection found in a wide range of birds and domestic poultry. This course is designed to further educate veterinarians and veterinarian technicians on the strands of avian influenza and its zoonotic effects, how avian influenza is diagnosed, common signs and symptoms, various preventative measures, and treatments.

Jan Bellows, DVM, FAVD, DAVDC, DABVP, is in private practice at All Pets Dental in Weston, Florida. He is the president of the Foundation for Veterinary Dentistry, which oversees the dental forum and the Journal of Veterinary Dentistry, and is the past president of the American Veterinary Dental College. Dr. Bellows earned his DVM from Auburn University and completed a small animal internship at Animal Medical Center in New York City
