Antibiotic Stewardship

At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:

1. Discuss the recommended antibiotic regimens for treatment of acute otitis media in children.

2. Discuss the management of patients with Clostridioides difficile infection, including those with initial infection and recurrence(s) of disease.

3. Determine the most appropriate therapy for an individual patient following a high-risk tick bite and Lyme disease.

4. Review the efficacy and safety of omadacycline (Nuzyra – Paratek) for use in adults with community-acquired bacterial pneumonia (CAP) and acute bacterial skin and skin structure infections (ABSSSIs).

5. Identify which bacterial infections in adults are necessary for antibiotic treatments and which are not.
