Who Do You Think You Are? Learning More About Emotional Intelligence – 1 CE

Activity Overview

As the interpersonal demands of clinical practice continue to increase, healthcare professionals need to better understand themselves and the way they are perceived by others in interpersonal interactions. Emotional intelligence theories provide an important perspective for self-reflection and personal development, as well as a vocabulary for explaining interpersonal differences.

The author has developed a validated tool, The Health Professional’s Inventory of Learning Styles (HPILs), which will be used as a vehicle for promoting self-assessment and self-reflection regarding emotional intelligence. Participants will complete the tool, then use personalized findings to better understand themselves, their colleagues, and how they respond in different interpersonal situations. Reflective questions will be used to guide participants in identifying opportunities for professional and personal self-development.
