Rx Review: Discovering the Latest and Greatest in Pharmacotherapy - Live Webinar on July 23, 2025 10 AM EST
Learn the latest advances in pharmacotherapy, including emerging drug therapies and clinical applications to enhance patient care and treatment outcomes.

About this webinar
The FDA approved 50 new pharmaceutical agents in 2021, 54% of which were first-in-class. This means that over half of new agents entering the market are unfamiliar to healthcare professionals, who need to be educated on how they align with current management guidelines, as well as their mechanism of action, dosing, side effects, clinical efficacy, and costs.
This presentation will review the pharmaceutical agents associated with Ambulatory Care practice models, which account for the majority of those approved in 2021. The discussion will be organized by organ systems, allowing the audience to apply this new knowledge to existing management guidelines, such as those for cardiovascular disease or diabetes. Each pharmaceutical agent presented will include class designation, mechanism of action, dosing, clinical efficacy/place in therapy, side effects, and cost information. At the conclusion of the presentation there will also be practice recommendations as well as a discussion of how to stay current with practice standards in this fast-paced healthcare environment.
At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:
Identify the new pharmaceutical agents available for clinical practice.
Outline the use of new pharmaceutical agents in clinical practice.
Explain the benefits, risks, and alternatives of new pharmaceutical agents.
