While this course may be excellent for medical professionals or health care providers ... it has little to nothing to do with the day to day responsibilities and needs of professionals in the Salon or Barber industry. Quite frankly, this information would be better given to the clients. Ask any Barber or Cosmetologist how often a client comes in and sits in our chairs WITHOUT telling us that they are sick .... only for us to find out after we have begun our service on them that they are coughing or flush with fever. I had a client once come in and sit in my chair, say very little, and admit half way through her hair color service that she had just left the doctor's office immediately before her appointment with me, and had been diagnosed with Strep Throat. She hadn't even stopped at the pharmacy first!! She left the doctor's office and came directly to her hair appointment, KNOWING that she had active Step Throat, and then didn't tell me till I had already applied her color. Hairstylists know how diseases are transmitted. We are within inches of people's head, neck and mouths all day long! We stand close to clients all day long as we cut & color their hair, we stand "over" them as we shampoo them, we lean in close and touch their faces as we preform waxing or facial services. These tasks are preformed while carrying on full conversations with our clients. All of these factors give clients the opportunity to "breathe & cough" right onto us, as salon professionals. Yes, proper infection control, safety, and sanitation are incredibly important in the salon setting!!! But spending our CE hours learning about Covid - which many of us had to work in a salon setting wearing full PPE, and are sadly are very familiar with - and learning about First Responders and hospital staff procedures does Not apply to salon professionals. Thank you.
The course was OK, but the questions are not well written. The answers are either obvious or very subjective. One of the questions has no correct answer choice.
This contained information that is highly specific to EMS and frontline hospital workers and could benefit from being labeled as such.
There were many typos and grammatical issues which made it hard to answer questions correctly
A lot of this does not pertain to a cosmetologist, why do I need to know about half this information when a hairdresser is not a essential worker and I would never come have any relevant situation that I would need this information. This felt more like a test for a nurse or something.
I feel that this course is for health providers and not nail technicians. Although the information is informative I feel it should have been more geared toward salon environment
While this information was most likely outstanding years ago, it is now out of date. This is one of the most important areas of study for professionals going into the future and must be comprehensive to show the current evidence based practices.
I had some answers correct and it changed some how. I took my time to make sure.
Dry coarse hard to understand wish video and sound was available. Test had trick questions that couldn't find to answer correctly.
I understand this is the course recommended by the state board but this information is not relative to a salon professional.
Surprised to see this much info about early Covid practices in 2025
Course had many typos and errors, some questions asked to choose from A-D but were not properly labeled.
Good info, but very outdated and doesn't pertain to salon infection control... only covid-19 and how essential workers should handle it.
Very much focused on COVID 19 and the healthcare industry. Has nothing to do with infection control and safety in the Cosmetology industry. Outdated information. Would like to see a course more closely related to the field of Cosmetology.
This was heavy on Covid and hospital/ER information. Barely useful for salon knowledge.
this was advertised as a course for salon professionals, there was no information or questions related to salons.
I'm not sure why exactly I had to learn about all of these new medical things when I'm a cosmetologist. I get it for some of it but legit lost me on over half the information
It was missing case studies and sections there were questions on. Very frustrating!
These questioln dont apply to me. Feel like test is NOT up to date.
Most of this information has nothing to do with cosmetology. The only useful information is about hand washing and disinfecting, but even the disinfecting part does not address anything within a salon situation.
I read the information provided by the other people that rated this course. I looked through my errors and will agree will another individual; I marked one of the answers correctly and it randomly changed my answer. I don't recommend this training. My advice, try a different course with higher ratings.
Some questions called for marking all that applied, however, system would only allow one choice to be selected, thereby impacting potential testing score - See #5 and 24
Questions did line up with materials provided, one question on quiz was not a question, case studies were missing, case study numbers did not match up with questions.
