Additional information
  • Utah Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Standard Renewal Requirements: Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine in Utah must renew their licenses every two years by May 31 of even-numbered years, completing 40 hours of CME every 2 years, with at least 34 hours in AMA PRA Category 1 CME or equivalent. Prescribers of controlled substances must complete 3.5 hours of controlled substances prescribing CME, including one-time SBIRT training, every renewal period. Online suicide prevention training is accepted as CME, and specialty board certification may be used in place of CME credits. These requirements are regulated by Utah Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing (DOPL) Utah DOPL Osteopathic Physician Renewal and Utah state statutes Utah Code 58-67-304 .

I really loved this information. I was hospitalized last year for almost a month and I noticed multiple medical errors (not being hooked up to my IV multiple times, given wrong medication which caused my sodium to be very low, etc.) which lengthened my stay. I can now define those exact errors and better understand what happened to me. I hate that these medical errors are so common and I appreciate how well laid out your breakdown and categorization of them was.
