Tennessee Licensed Practical Nurse Standard Renewal Requirements: Tennessee LPNs renew every two years on their birthday month and must complete any two Board-approved competence activities. One option is five hours of Board-approved continuing education (or 10 hours if not actively practicing), but many other alternatives meet the requirement, including employer evaluations, national certification, peer or patient feedback, academic coursework, or teaching.
