  • Tennessee Dentist Standard Renewal Requirements: Tennessee dentists must complete 40 hours of continuing education every two years in the renewal cycle starting January 1 of odd years and ending December 31 of even years. Two hours must specifically focus on prescribing controlled substances and following Tennessee's Chronic Pain Guidelines. All CE hours may be earned online or in person; dentists are advised to keep CPR documentation and CE records for at least three years in case of audit. The Tennessee Board of Dentistry manages renewal and CE compliance Tennessee Board of Dentistry Continuing Education .
