South Carolina Dentist Standard Renewal Requirements: South Carolina dentists must renew their licenses every two years with 28 hours of continuing education, at least 14 hours (50%) must be live or interactive courses. Required CE includes 2 hours in sterilization and infection control and, if the dentist has prescribing authority, 2 hours on controlled substances prescribing and monitoring . CPR recertification is required every three years. The renewal period runs from January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2026, with renewed strict policies returning for live in-person CE in 2024. Licenses must be renewed by December 31 to avoid late fees South Carolina Board of Dentistry .
