Rhode Island Dentist Standard Renewal Requirements: Rhode Island dentists are required to renew their licenses every two years by June 30 of even-numbered years, completing 40 hours of Board-approved continuing education during each renewal period. At least 2 hours of CE must be specific to CDC-approved infection control protocols, completed in person or as otherwise approved. Dentists must maintain current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification annually to renew their licenses, especially those practicing in clinical settings. Renewal applications and CE attestations must be submitted before the May 1 deadline in each even-numbered year Rhode Island Department of Health .
