Pennsylvania Dental Hygienist Standard Renewal Requirements: Pennsylvania dental hygienists must renew their licenses every two years by completing 20 hours of Board-approved continuing education, with at least half of those hours earned via live or interactive sessions. Additionally, 2 hours of Act 31 Mandated Child Abuse Reporter Training is mandatory. Current certification in infant, child, and adult CPR is also required but cannot be counted towards CE hours. Renewal applications are submitted online through the Pennsylvania Licensing System (PALS) State Board of Dentistry Renewal Guide .
