Required Courses
1 hour on Category A: directly related to the Ohio Nurse Practice Act and the administrative rules of the Ohio Board of Nursing. To qualify as Category A, the CE must be approved by an Ohio Board of Nursing (OBN) approver.
Additional information
Ohio Licensed Practical Nurse Standard Renewal Requirements: Ohio LPNs must renew their license every two years and complete 24 contact hours of Board-approved continuing education per cycle. Of these, at least 1 hour must cover the Ohio Nurse Practice Act ("Category A"), with the rest chosen from general or elective topics of professional interest. The Board allows online CE and sets special reduced requirements for first-time and endorsement renewals; find official instructions at the Ohio Board of Nursing CE Renewal page .

I was hospitalized last year for almost a month and I noticed multiple medical errors (not being hooked up to my IV multiple times, given wrong medication which caused my sodium to be very low, etc.) which lengthened my stay. I can now define those exact errors and better understand what happened to me. I hate that these medical errors are so common and I appreciate how well laid out your breakdown and categorization of them was.
