Ohio APRN Standard Renewal Requirements: Ohio APRNs renew their licenses every two years and must complete 24 contact hours of Board-approved continuing education for each APRN license held, in addition to the 24 hours required for RN license renewal. For nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, and midwives, 12 of the 24 hours must be in advanced pharmacology, and all hours must be approved by the Ohio Board of Nursing, with online formats permitted. I was hospitalized last year for almost a month and I noticed multiple medical errors (not being hooked up to my IV multiple times, given wrong medication which caused my sodium to be very low, etc.) which lengthened my stay. I can now define those exact errors and better understand what happened to me.
