New Mexico Physician Assistant Standard Renewal Requirements: Physician Assistants in New Mexico renew their licenses every two years by July 1, submitting a completed renewal application, renewal fee, and proof of current NCCPA certification. DEA-registered PAs must complete specific continuing education in pain management and controlled substance prescribing—5 hours during the first renewal year and 3 hours at each subsequent renewal. The Board encourages additional CME related to the medicinal use of cannabis. Documentation and renewal are handled through the New Mexico Medical Board New Mexico Medical Board Renewal
