New Jersey Physician Assistant Standard Renewal Requirements: Physician Assistants in New Jersey must renew their license biennially and complete 50 hours of AMA PRA Category 1 continuing medical education every two years. Those authorized to prescribe controlled substances are required to complete 1 hour annually on opioid prescribing and abuse prevention. While PAs are not required to submit CME documentation at renewal, they must keep records in case of a board audit. The renewal process is administered by the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs and licensees renew through the online portal NJ Division of Consumer Affairs - PA Renewal .

I was hospitalized last year for almost a month and I noticed multiple medical errors (not being hooked up to my IV multiple times, given wrong medication which caused my sodium to be very low, etc.) which lengthened my stay. I can now define those exact errors and better understand what happened to me. I hate that these medical errors are so common and I appreciate how well laid out your breakdown and categorization of them was.
