Mississippi Licensed Practical Nurse Standard Renewal Requirements: Mississippi LPNs renew their license every two years between September 1 and December 31 of odd-numbered years, and no continuing education is required for renewal if actively practiced within the preceding five years. LPNs out of practice for more than five years must complete 20 contact hours of approved CE. Expanded Role LPNs must fulfill additional CE specific to IV therapy or hemodialysis.
