Mississippi Licensed Practical Nurse Standard Renewal Requirements: Mississippi LPNs renew their license every two years between September 1 and December 31 of odd-numbered years, and no continuing education is required for renewal if actively practiced within the preceding five years. LPNs out of practice for more than five years must complete 20 contact hours of approved CE. Expanded Role LPNs must fulfill additional CE specific to IV therapy or hemodialysis. I was hospitalized last year for almost a month and I noticed multiple medical errors (not being hooked up to my IV multiple times, given wrong medication which caused my sodium to be very low, etc.) which lengthened my stay. I can now define those exact errors and better understand what happened to me. I hate that these medical errors are so common and I appreciate how well laid out your breakdown and categorization of them was.
