Minnesota Registered Nurse Standard Renewal Requirements: Minnesota RNs must renew their license every two years, with expiration set for the last day of the nurse’s birth month. Each renewal cycle requires completion of 24 contact hours of Board-approved continuing education, which may be in any subject area relevant to nursing practice. No mandatory live training or content-specific hours are required for RNs, and renewal can be accomplished through qualifying CE activities or current national certification if recognized by the Board. I was hospitalized last year for almost a month and I noticed multiple medical errors (not being hooked up to my IV multiple times, given wrong medication which caused my sodium to be very low, etc.) which lengthened my stay. I can now define those exact errors and better understand what happened to me.
