Minnesota Dentist Standard Renewal Requirements: Minnesota dentists renew their license every two years and must complete 50 Board-approved continuing education hours in each cycle, including 30 fundamental hours, up to 20 elective hours, and infection control. Dentists must also complete courses in at least two additional mandatory topic areas, and DEA-registered dentists must complete a one-time 8-hour opioid/substance use course. I was hospitalized last year for almost a month and I noticed multiple medical errors (not being hooked up to my IV multiple times, given wrong medication which caused my sodium to be very low, etc.) which lengthened my stay. I can now define those exact errors and better understand what happened to me.
