Additional information
Maine APRN Standard Renewal Requirements: Maine APRNs must renew their license every two years with the RN renewal, completing 50 contact hours of continuing education for each specialty area within the preceding two years. Of these, at least 30 must be Category I activities, and all CE must closely align with the APRN specialty as documented for audit. APRNs must also maintain an active national certification in their specialty unless originally licensed before January 1, 1996. I was hospitalized last year for almost a month and I noticed multiple medical errors (not being hooked up to my IV multiple times, given wrong medication which caused my sodium to be very low, etc.) which lengthened my stay. I can now define those exact errors and better understand what happened to me. I hate that these medical errors are so common and I appreciate how well laid out your breakdown and categorization of them was.
