Louisiana Medical Doctor Standard Renewal Requirements: Medical doctors in Louisiana must renew their licenses annually through the LaMED dashboard online portal, completing 20 hours of Category 1 CME each year. Among these, at least 2 hours must focus on pain management and opioid prescribing. Physicians with lapsed licenses longer than one year must apply for reinstatement or relicensure and comply with additional requirements. Continuing education requirements apply to all licensed MDs, including foreign graduates and those returning to practice Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners Renewal
