Louisiana APRN Standard Renewal Requirements: Louisiana APRNs renew their license every two years by January 31, with renewal open from October 1 through December 31. They must complete at least 30 board-approved contact hours of continuing education unless they are nationally board-certified, which satisfies the CE requirement. APRNs with prescriptive authority have an annual requirement of 6 contact hours in pharmacotherapeutics, totaling 12 hours every two years, including a one-time 3-hour CE focused on controlled substances prescribing .
