Illinois Dentist Standard Renewal Requirements: Illinois dentists renew every three years, with licenses expiring September 30. To renew, a dentist must attest to 48 hours of CE, at least 24 hours obtained in person, plus maintain a current BLS card. Required subjects include 1 hour of Sexual-Harassment Prevention training for all licensees and 3 hours of Safe-Opioid Prescribing CE if the dentist holds a Controlled Substance Registration.
