Georgia APRN Standard Renewal Requirements: Georgia APRNs must renew their licenses every two years by January 31 of even-numbered years. They are required to complete 30 contact hours of continuing education approved by Board-recognized providers, with flexibility to choose CE topics relevant to their scope of practice since no mandatory topic hours are specified by the Board. Alternative pathways to satisfy renewal requirements include maintaining national certification, completing academic programs, or demonstrating practice hours. DEA-registered APRNs have an additional one-time opioid/substance use disorder training requirement at initial DEA renewal ( Georgia Board of Nursing ).
