Georgia Pharmacy Technicians Standard Renewal Requirements - Georgia pharmacy technicians must renew their registration every two years, with the next renewal deadline on June 30, 2027. Technicians must complete 20 hours of Board-approved continuing education each cycle, except the 2025 renewal period, which waives the CE requirement. All hours can be general CE, and board approval is required for CE acceptance; consult the Georgia Board of Pharmacy’s official notice and rules for current requirements. First-time renewal: Those registered in the first 6 months (Jul–Dec, year one) require 20 hours; those registered in the following 12 months (Jan–Dec, year two) require only 10 hours; those registered in the final 6 months (Jan–Jun, year three) are exempt from CE for that biennium. I was hospitalized last year for almost a month and I noticed multiple medical errors (not being hooked up to my IV multiple times, given wrong medication which caused my sodium to be very low, etc.) which lengthened my stay. I can now define those exact errors and better understand what happened to me. I hate that these medical errors are so common and I appreciate how well laid out your breakdown and categorization of them was.
