California Dental Hygienist Standard Renewal Requirements: California RDHs must complete 25 Board-approved CE units every two years and renew their license by the last day of their birth-month. At least half (≈ 13 units) must be taken in live or interactive formats, because self-study cannot exceed 50 % of the total. Required coursework includes 2 units each in California Infection Control and the California Dental Practice Act , plus current Basic Life Support (up to 4 units, in-person skills demo mandatory).
