Alabama Dental Hygienist Standard Renewal Requirements: Alabama dental hygienists must complete 12 CE hours annually, at least six of which are live, before submitting their renewal by 30 September. Required content includes annual training in Infection Control and Ethics , plus current in-person CPR/BLS (2–4 hours every two years). Elective hours are capped at four hours of insurance/risk-management topics and three hours of practice management, and at least half of all CE must be directly related to clinical dental-hygiene practice.
