Child Abuse and Neglect: A Healthcare Professional's Guide to Pennsylvania's Reporting Requirements - 3 AOA Category 1-A Credits

At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:

1. Recognize and apply the criterion of "reasonable cause to suspect" as the basis for reporting suspected child abuse.

2. Analyze the requirement that identifying the type of abuse is not necessary when making a report of suspected child abuse.

Describe and distinguish the three key components of child abuse as recognized by the PA Child Protective Services Law: the involved child, the nature of the act or failure to act (including recent acts or series of acts), and the requirement that the act is done intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly.
