Total Hours Required:
30 hours
Next Renewal Date:
April 1, 2023 – every 2 years
Required Courses:
- 26 general hours
- 2 hours in child abuse recognition and reporting
- 2 hours in pain management, the identification of addiction or the practices of prescribing or dispensing of opioids for prescribers
Note: A maximum of 15 hours may be completed online.
Pennsylvania Dental Hygienist
Total Hours Required:
20 hours
Next Renewal Date:
April 1, 2023 – every 2 years
Required Courses:
- 2 hours in child abuse recognition and reporting
- 3 hours in administration of local anesthesia, pharmacology for local anesthesia permit holders
- A public health dental hygiene practitioner shall complete 5 hours in public health-related courses.
Note: A maximum of 10 hours may be completed online.
Pennsylvania Registered Dental Assistant
Total Hours Required:
10 hours
Next Renewal Date:
April 1, 2023 – every 2 years
Required Courses:
- 2 hours in child abuse recognition and reporting
- 3 hours in coronal polishing via hands-on clinical training (unless also licensed as dental hygienist)
Note: A maximum of 5 hours may be completed online.
