It is also accredited by the Florida Board of Dentistry (Provider #50-20641) and Dental Board of California (Provider #RP5822).

Total Hours Required:
60 hours
Next Renewal Date:
Based on initial license date – Every 3 years
Required Courses:
- 57 general hours
- 3 hours in pain and symptom management
- 3 hours in Implicit Bias Training effective 06/01/2022 – in addition to the 60 CE total hours (live webinar or in-person)
- 1 hour in opioid training for state controlled substance license holders (one-time)
- Maximum of 30 hours may be completed online.
- New requirements must be met before any renewal on or after April 26, 2022:
- 1 hour in dental ethics and jurisprudence
- 1 hour in infection control
Michigan Dental Hygienist

36 hours

Based on initial license date – Every 3 years
Required Courses:
- 34 general hours
- 2 hours in pain and symptom management

Additional Information
- A one-time requirement of Human Trafficking Training is needed that is separate from continuing education.
- New Applicants for licensure or registration are required to have completed 2 hours of implicit bias training within the 5 years immediately preceding issuance of the license or registration.
- A dental specialist must complete 20 hours of the 60 required board-approved continuing education hours in the dental specialty field in which he or she is licensed within the 3 year period immediately preceding the renewal application.
