Kansas Licensed Master Social Worker Standard Renewal Requirements: Licensed Master Social Workers in Kansas must renew their license every two years by their expiration date, completing 40 hours of board-approved continuing education within the prior two years. This must include at least 3 ethics hours and 6 hours focused on diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders. A one-time 6-hour social worker safety awareness training is required at the first renewal after January 1, 2011. There is no specified minimum for live or in-person CE hours, and academic coursework credit is accepted. These rules are established by the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board and detailed in Kansas Administrative Regulations .
