How to Create an Equitable and Affirming Dental Practice: A Guide for Dentists
Learn how to become an LGBTQ ally and create a nurturing, equitable, and affirming dental space for all patients.

About this course
LGBTQ individuals have always been stigmatized and discriminated against on many fronts, including access to affirming and culturally competent health care. While LGBTQ individuals need access to nonjudgmental, affirming, competent dental services just like everyone else, they often face barriers ranging from outright hostility to a lack of providers who are knowledgeable regarding the unique health needs of the LGBTQ community. This course discusses strategies on how to become an LGBTQ ally and create a nurturing, equitable, and affirming dental space. This self-directed course is equivalent to two (2) credit hours and can be completed using a computer, laptop, or mobile device.
