About this course
In 2022, Boomers born in 1957 will automatically belong to the geriatric community, which accounts for roughly 17% of the U.S. population. People aged 65 and above are significant recipients of primary health care services. As such, it is necessary that nurses like you be well-equipped in handling geriatric patients. This course provides an overview of the aging process and things to expect when attending to geriatric patients, in hopes of helping nurses become effective in their assessment, diagnosis, and treatment practices.

Patricia Dunn DNP, APRN, FNP-BC is a Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of experience as an Advanced Practice Nurse and 20 years as a Registered Nurse. She has served as an APRN for Florida Pain Institute, Heart Rhythm Associates of Brevard, House Calls of Central Florida. She earned her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Walden University, Minneapolis.
