Arizona Dentist
Total Hours Required:
72 hours
Next Renewal Date:
Birthday – every 3 years
Required Courses:
- 60 General Hours
- 48 Live Hours
- 3 hours in chemical dependence which may include tobacco cessation
- 3 hours in infection control
- 3 hours in Ethics
- 3 hours in CPR healthcare providers are ACLS and PALS.
- A maximum of 24 hours may be completed online
- No more than 18 credit hours in the following areas: Dental practice organization and management, patient management skills, and methods of health care delivery.
Arizona Dental Hygienist
Total Hours Required:
54 hours
Next Renewal Date:
Birthday – every 3 years
Required Courses:
- 45 General Hours
- 30 Live Hours
- 3 hours in one or more of the following areas: chemical dependency, tobacco cessation, ethics, risk management, or Arizona dental jurisprudence
- 3 hours in infection control
- 3 hours in CPR healthcare provider are ACLS and PALS
- A maximum of 24 hours may be completed online
- No more than 14 credit hours in one or more of the following areas: Dental hygiene practice organization and management, patient management skills, and methods of health care delivery.
Arizona Denturist
Total Hours Required:
36 hours

Birthday – every 3 years
Required Courses:
- 27 General Hours
- 1 hour in Chemical dependency, which may include tobacco cessation
- 2 hours in Infectious diseases or infectious disease control
- 3 hours in Ethics or Arizona dental jurisprudence
- 3 hours in CPR healthcare provider, ACLS and PALS
- A maximum of 12 hours can be completed online
Additional Information
- On January 29, 2021, the Board reviewed and discussed the allowance of continuing to allow for all continuing education (“CE”) to be completed online due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The Board will revisit this matter at its December 2021 meeting, so please feel confident in completing all your CE credits online through December 31, 2021.
